From October 20 to 28th, the Alberta Small Brewers Association presents Alberta Beer Week for its third year! Brewers, pubs, liquor stores and beer enthusiasts across Alberta will come together to celebrate the beer industry for a magical nine days.
Celebrations are happening around the province, but here’s an Edmonton event round-up:
October 20th:
Beer Revolution will convert all 24 of its draft lines to strictly Alberta beer, to celebrate our growing beer industry and #ABBeer pride!
Sherbrooke Liquor hosts a double-blind tasting event to bookend the week (Part 2 of this event happens Oct 27). “AB vs THE WORLD” pits an Alberta beer against an international beer.
October 21st:
As per usual, we have our weekly Saturday Edmonton Craft Beer Tour. Book this or ANY upcoming tour with the promo code “ABBEERWEEK” to save 10%!
October 22nd
We’re launching our “Hop on for Hops” beer bus tour for Alberta Beer Week! Visit Situation Brewing, Brewsters Oliver Square and Craft Beer Market hop-on hop-off style for only $25. The event includes discounts on merch and pints, plus transportation between each stop.
October 23rd:
Bench Creek Brewing launches its Villainous Series, releasing a new porter during Alberta Beer Week. Check out their tasting event at Sherbrooke featuring the new beer plus some old favourites, paired with Halloween candy!
October 24th:
Blindman Brewing launches a new barrel-aged brew in the Sherbrooke tasting room.
Hell’s Basement Brewery comes up from Medicine Hat to do floor pours at Sherbrooke from 4 - 7 p.m.
October 25th:
Local beer blogger Jason Foster hosts “Travel Alberta’s Oddities” in the Sherbrooke tasting room. Sample something old, something new, something rare and something blue from Alberta breweries.
October 26th:
Alley Kat launches their new winter seasonal at the brewery, the Long John’s Salted Caramel Ale. Wear your best long johns and slippers!
Brewsters hosts a delicious Brewsmasters Dinner at their Oliver Square location
Dandy Brewing Co. does a beer and dessert tasting event at Sherbrooke.
GP Brewing comes down from Grande Prairie to do floor pours from 4-7 p.m. at Sherbrooke.
Take a master class in UK and Irish Beer at Wine and Beyond in Sherwood Park.
October 27th:
Edgerton’s Ribstone Creek Brewery heads to Sherbrooke for a flour pour from 4-7 p.m.
October 28th:
Do a little hair of the dog at “Beerios” with Phillips Brewing at Sherbrooke, bright and early at 10 a.m.
Dandy Brewing Co. does floor pours at Sherbrooke in the afternoon.
